We are offering an opportunity to gain General ICU experience in a state of the art adult critical care unit based at Queen Alexandra (QA) Hospital, Portsmouth. The post would suit candidates who are currently between rotations (e.g. completed ACCS or core anaesthetic training), or who are seeking further ICU experience.
You will have an assigned educational supervisor for the whole of your fellowship period - the supervisor will meet you at the beginning of the post to discuss your training needs and objectives and then again at the end to ensure these have been met – they will also be your point of contact for any problems during the post.
It would be important to link Experience of Emergency presentations (Advanced CPR, Shocked Patient, Unconscious Patient, Anaphylaxis/Severe Drug Reactions) and other competencies ensure portfolio progression and core medical experience is maintained as well as developing for critical care focussed skill sets.
As an experienced ICU SHO you would ideally have:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- MB BS or equivalent
- PLAB (if applicable)
