Candidate processes

Becoming a bank worker isn’t complicated. However there are a series of processes that must be adhered to, in order to ensure that we provide only the best workers for our staff banks. These processes vary slightly from bank to bank, and from specialism to specialism.

You’ll need to complete this registration form to declare your interest in becoming a bank worker. Alternatively you can approach one of the staff banks directly. Once registered, you’ll be contacted by one of our consultants.

We’ll need to interview you over the phone to find out what sort of work you’re looking for and to learn a little bit about you. If, after this phone call, we can establish that you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’ll invite you in for a face-to-face interview, and ask you to complete a full application form.

The face-to-face interview consists of two sections:

  1. During the first we’ll collect your completed application form and also ask you to complete an occupational health questionnaire, a CRB check form, present some ID for a DBS check and review your eligibility to work in the UK.
  2. During the second section a healthcare professional will assess your technical skills. Please note, if you’re a doctor, then you will be assessed directly by the hospital.

We will gather all the necessary information to process our administrative checks. Be sure to bring all documentation requested by our consultants to avoid delay. Typically all clearance processes will take about 28 days to complete. Once we have the checks back, and you are clear to work, we will assess your training needs by reviewing your training certificates and schedule you in for any necessary checks, as well as the staff bank induction.

The final stage will be to issue you with your staff bank ID badge, uniform and handbook, which includes everything you need to know about working on a Bank Partners staff bank. We’ll then check your availability and start booking your shifts.
