Consultant Radiologist Oncology - Portsmouth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide MDT support for the gynaecological and lymphoma MDTs.
  • Provide oncology cross sectional reporting including gynaecological and prostate MRI, CT Colonography, plain films and general USS.
  • Provide training for the Portsmouth Radiology Training Scheme Specialty Trainees and other Southampton based rotating Wessex SPRs.
  • The job comprises 8 direct clinical care (DCC) and 2 supporting programme activities (SPA). One of the SPA sessions can be taken off site. We are happy to support flexible working (e.g. compressed job plan, four day working etc). Extra DDC PAs may be available following consultation with the Clinical Director, depending on departmental and personal requirement

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT (proposed date must be within 6 months), CESR or European Community Rights
  • Fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists, or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Management course or experience.
  • Additional training in related areas (e.g., medical education, ethics, etc).
  • Fellowship level training in Oncology Imaging

Clinical experience:

Essential

  • Demonstrable, significant and ongoing experience in oncology radiology with evidence of significant subspecialist training, including competence in a broad range of ultrasound, MRI, CT, and plain film interpretation.
  • General Diagnostic Radiology skills to support local requirements for acute general radiology service weekday time and on call/ in and working at weekend.
  • Understanding of clinical risk management.

Desirable

  • Fellowship level training in Oncology imaging
  • Experience working at a Consultant Level
  • Experience in PET
  • Subspecialty training in Gynae and Prostate MRI
  • Experience in rectal MRI and CT colonoscopy reporting
