Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. GOSH is a recognised centre for training in paediatric intensive care medicine, being one of the largest for children in the UK and Europe. Your Purpose

We warmly welcome applications from nurses who have experience within intensive care. You will be working within a team that values your expertise and skill, by giving you opportunities to grow and develop alongside our Trust. The critical care units at GOSH include general, cardiac, and neonatal CCUs.

You will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality patient care; whilst working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team. Day-to-day work will be in line with the trust policies, objectives, protocols, and local guidelines in accordance with NMC regulations.

To successfully apply to work as an CCU Nurse at GOSH, we are looking for previous intensive care experience, including caring for Level 2 and 3 Patients. All essential requirements are listed, as follows:

  • Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) registered nurse
  • Relevant nursing qualifications at degree-level. CCU Qualifications are desirable.
  • At least six months experience as an CCU Nurse & Paediatric Nurse within the last three years.
  • Oral and IV medication administration competent
  • Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and an ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure
  • Experience in assessment, observation, and monitoring of patients
  • To be competent in administering medication confidently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic IT and computer skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients
  • Committed to family-centred care
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good time management and teaching skills
  • Ability to work well both in a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to delegate tasks as appropriate
  • Demonstrates compassion in practice
