St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts)are searching for an experienced and passionate Power BI Developer (Data Engineer) to join their highly skilled team.

The Role:
Barts Health NHS Trust is migrating its analytics and reporting estate from Qlik to Microsoft Fabric with Power BI, supported by a third-party Centre of Excellence (CoE) delivery partner. This is a newly created, fixed-term post established to provide dedicated internal capacity throughout the transition, protecting business-as-usual (BAU) reporting while the Trust builds sustainable in-house Power BI and Fabric capability.
This post is fixed term for 12 months to support the Trust's transition from Qlik to Microsoft Fabric with Power BI. The post holder will spend an initial period shadowing and working closely with the ANS Centre of Excellence team, shadowing and knowledge-transferring on Microsoft Fabric architecture, data modelling, and Power BI development, before taking on an increasing share of platform build, validation, and support responsibilities as the migration progresses. The role will support both the migration of existing Qlik dashboards and the development of new Power BI reporting in response to operational and clinical needs.
The post holder will work closely with the CoE delivery partner during Year 1.
Requirements:
- Degree in a numerate, technical, or data-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrable experience developing reports and dashboards in Power BI, including data modelling and DAX
- Experience of migrating reports or dashboards between BI platforms
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational data structures
- Understanding of data governance, information security, and access control principles (e.g. row-level security, RBAC)
- Ability to translate operational and clinical reporting requirements into effective dashboard design
- Ability to work collaboratively within a third-party delivery model (e.g. Centre of Excellence, managed service)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage a varied workload during a period of organisational change
