University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) are searching for a passionate and experienced Band 5 - Maternity Team Leader to join their highly skilled team.

Job Purpose:
The Administration Team Leader will be responsible for managing all elements of administration process for the private maternity and women’s health services, all whilst adhering to the highest standards of customer service.
The post holder will ensure all enquiries from prospective patients are coordinated to the relevant consultant, in addition to managing booking requests from consultants on behalf of their private patients. They will organise all the required elements of the pathway (Outpatient appointments, theatres, ward admissions, anaesthetists, imaging and pre-assessment), quickly, efficiently and in accordance with the patient and consultant’s requirements.
The Administration Team Leader will collect and manage the required registration information for new patients and will monitor all planned admissions, liaising with patients to ensure minimal financial risk to the Trust by ensuring that funding authorisations are in place and agreed accordingly between with the patient ahead of admission.
The post holder will act as a comprehensive point of contact for the private patient unit, ensuring all enquiries are answered professionally and within agreed KPI’s. They will act as a positive ambassador for the service, promoting and marketing private services to patients and consultants. A uniform will be worn to ensure a neat and professional appearance at all times.
The role will effectively manage a team of administrative staff, ensuring team work is achieved effectively with colleagues and departments across the Trust to ensure that that all private patient activity is delivered in line with the targets set by the private healthcare management team. The postholder will be part of the team covering the reception to greet and support patients, family members, and colleagues.
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of the full range of administrative procedures, acquired through degree or equivalent training and previous experience of working in an administrative environment
Knowledge and experience of information systems used for the storage and retrieval of sensitive personal information, such as hospital patient information systems.
Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
Experience of working in a non-routine environment, with demonstrable evidence of problem solving and resolving issues as they arise.
Operational management within a management role.
Experience of working in a customer facing environment, resolving queries and using initiative to ensure first-class service delivery.
Previous NHS or private healthcare experience, or experience of working in a healthcare setting
Experience of supervising a team of staff.
Experience of working in a private healthcare provider within the NHS.
Previous experience of staff management including objective setting, appraisal, performance review and development.
