St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts)are searching for an experienced Temporary IPC Data Management Assistant to join their highly skilled team.

Job Purpose:
To provide dedicated data management and administrative support to the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team. The post holder will ensure the accurate collection, validation, analysis and reporting of IPC surveillance data to support statutory reporting, performance monitoring, quality improvement programmes and organisational assurance.
The role will contribute to maintaining high-quality datasets, producing routine reports and dashboards, supporting data requests and ensuring information is managed in accordance with Trust policies and information governance requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The post holder will:
- Maintain accurate IPC surveillance datasets.
- Deliver timely routine performance reports.
- Improve data quality across IPC reporting.
- Support the delivery of statutory IPC reporting requirements.
- Enable the IPC Team to focus on quality improvement and assurance activities through efficient data management support.
- Collect, validate and maintain IPC surveillance datasets, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Enter, cleanse and quality assure data from multiple sources including Winpath.
- Produce routine IPC performance reports, dashboards and spreadsheets.
- Support the maintenance of surveillance databases for mandatory healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs), outbreaks and other IPC metrics.
- Identify missing, inconsistent or inaccurate data and liaise with relevant clinical teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Generate daily, monthly and ad hoc reports for IPC meetings, committees and Board reporting.
- Support the production of statistical summaries, graphs and trend analyses.
- Assist with updating performance dashboards and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Prepare information for internal and external reporting requirements.
- Maintain organised electronic filing systems and data records.
- Support meeting preparation by collating data and reports.
- Respond to routine information requests from clinical teams and managers.
- Assist with document control and version management of IPC reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and Information Governance requirements.
- Follow Trust policies relating to data quality and record management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of IPC data management processes.
- Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience. - Good standard of education including GCSE (or equivalent) English and Mathematics.
- Understanding of data management principles.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, power Bi and relevant Microsoft modules.
- Experience using databases and electronic information systems.
- Understanding of confidentiality and information governance.
- Knowledge of Infection prevention and control jargon and requirements
- Experience of data entry and validation.
- Experience producing reports and spreadsheets.
- Experience working in an administrative or data management role.
- Experience working to deadlines with competing priorities.
- Experience of working within infection prevention and control
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Ability to analyse data and identify anomalies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
