Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Band 3


Reports to Operational Manager



Proven experience of good performance in previous Pharmacy posts. Experience of working in hospital environment. Experience or working in a team. Understanding of relevant legislation. Experience of training



Able to provide leadership. Able to plan own work and the supervision of others in a clear and organised way. Able to work alone or as part of a team with different grades of staff. Able to work calmly under pressure and to deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy. Able to work to policies and procedures.

* IT and keyboard skills

* Numerate. Able to perform simple calculations.

* Time management skills

* Able to use Excel



Understand issues involved in stock control

Interested in and have knowledge of the use of drugs.

Understand the importance of quality issues.

Understand customer care issues.

Dispensing and interpreting prescriptions


Qualifications: - NVQ level 2 Pharmacy Service

Medicines optimisation Transcribing

Medicines optimisation POD checking

Team leader qualification

Line management qualification

Train the trainer qualification
