 Role Specifics:

It will be your responsibility as an accident and emergency doctor to clinically assess all new arrivals to the emergency department. You'll need to assess patients quickly, often with little information to go on, and you'll need to have broad medical knowledge as well as the ability to think on your feet. Although this can be a difficult job, it will put you on the front lines of saving lives in an emergency. You will frequently be called to respond to accidents and emergencies such as:

  • Minor cuts
  • Traffic accidents
  • Strokes
  • Heart attacks
  • Self-harm
  • Alcohol and drug-related ailments
