Job Summary:
Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Specialist Nurse to join our Safeguarding Children team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our community. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, support, and training to healthcare professionals, ensuring that safeguarding practices are embedded across all services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice and support on safeguarding children to healthcare professionals within HRCH.
- Lead and participate in safeguarding children supervision sessions.
- Develop and deliver training programs on safeguarding children.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure effective safeguarding practices.
- Conduct safeguarding children audits and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Participate in case reviews and provide expert input into complex safeguarding cases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with HRCH policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- First level degree or equivalent experience.
- Three years post registration health visiting/school nursing experience of equivalent.
- Evidence of multi-agency working.
- Evidence of teaching and assessing in practice.
- Significant experience in safeguarding children within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable Criteria:
- Postgraduate qualification in safeguarding children or related field.
- Experience in delivering training and supervision.
- Knowledge of local and national safeguarding policies and procedures.
