Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Children - Band 7 - Richmond

Job Summary:

Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Specialist Nurse to join our Safeguarding Children team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our community. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, support, and training to healthcare professionals, ensuring that safeguarding practices are embedded across all services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice and support on safeguarding children to healthcare professionals within HRCH.
  • Lead and participate in safeguarding children supervision sessions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safeguarding children.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure effective safeguarding practices.
  • Conduct safeguarding children audits and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Participate in case reviews and provide expert input into complex safeguarding cases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with HRCH policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • First level degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three years post registration health visiting/school nursing experience of equivalent.
  • Evidence of multi-agency working.
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing in practice.
  • Significant experience in safeguarding children within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Postgraduate qualification in safeguarding children or related field.
  • Experience in delivering training and supervision.
  • Knowledge of local and national safeguarding policies and procedures.
