Band 5 Neonatal Staff Nurse,
We are looking for enthusiastic, professional nurses who want to make a real difference for the patients in our care to join our temporary staffing. As a Band 5 nurse, you must be an NMC registered nurse, Neonatal or Paediatric experience, we offer an excellent opportunity to consolidate your experience in our unit.
You should expect to be supported, supervised, challenged and mentored by our experienced staff and Practice Development Nurse.
Our Neonatal Unit
As part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Princess Royal University Hospital is situated in beautiful Farnborough based in Orpington, is within zone five on the British Rail with the closest stations being Bromley South and Oripington and short bus ride on bus routes 261, R3 and R4. Our Unit is a Level1 Special Care within the South London Operational Delivery Network. The unit has 12 cots, consisting of in-utero deliveries as well as post-natal transfers from the South East of England, Kent & Medway Towns, Brighton & West Sussex and within London.
Our care focuses predominantly on the developmental care needs of the neonate, some of whom will be recovering from long periods of hospitalisation linked to their prematurity or surgical procedures.
We serve a maternity department which caters for over 5,000 deliveries per annum.
Our nurses have the responsibility for planning, managing and coordinating clinical care for babies requiring high level of nursing care and supporting staff to develop these skills on the unit. We focus on developing nursing leaders for the future and therefore alongside a full team of Practice Development Nurses, provide individualised professional leadership and clinical development.
Our nurses work with change and challenge to ensure improved lives and future for neonates and families.
A major planned re-designation of our unit means we will moving to a Local Neonatal Unit (LNU) increasing our acuity to care for babies requiring level 2 Neonatal Care.
