 The role:

The post holder will be part of the midwifery team and will be involved in maintaining and promoting health during pregnancy and early infancy, and to support parents in the transition to parenthood or life with a new baby.

To assist midwives in the delivery of care to women and babies in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, working in all areas of Maternity.

The Maternity Support Worker works as part of the ward/department team under the supervision of registered nurses and midwives and:

- Participates in the delivery of patient care

- Contributes towards ward/department organization

- Supports registered midwives in the provision of a safe and caring environment

Important Requirements:

- At least 6 months NHS maternity experience in the last 3 years

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centered approach
