North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust are seeking friendly and enthusiastic individuals looking to undertake a rewarding voluntary role. Each and every one of our volunteers make a significant difference to our patients, visitors and our staff and are a vital part of the team. We highly value the time and commitment our volunteers give.
We are in need of volunteers to help out with the following duties:
- Support in making and distributing tea, coffee, water
- General assistance for patients at mealtimes- completing menus etc
- Social activities -Talking, listening and reading to patients
- Help patients navigate the hospital and departments
- Provide admin/telephony support to ward staff
- General housekeeping in public areas
Successful applications are subject to two references, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and occupational health clearances however, we are streamlining this process currently to deploy volunteers as quickly as possible.
How long can I volunteer for?
It is completely up to you on how much time you are willing to offer; however we do ask that you commit for a minimum of 2 months and ideally for an average of approximately 4+ hours per week.
What happens next?
When you have submitted your application one of the team will get in contact with you to discuss the roles and which one would be best suited to you. We can also discuss the requirements in more detail and answer any questions you may have about becoming a volunteer.
