This is a key role in the Performance & Information department, responsible for the management and provision of high quality information support to the clinical divisions of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Responsibilities:
Operational Performance Assurance
- Supporting, and leading where appropriate the delivery of information and performance reporting, that enables the operational services to review and track performance against agreed targets at both local and national level.
- To deputise for Line Manager at meetings / forums relevant to your area.
- To support the production of the Trusts reporting processes, co-ordinating both the data to monitor the key performance indicators and also any remedial action plans that may be required
Business Intelligence Management
- To capture information from relevant stakeholders and transfer to intelligence.
- To provide detailed interpretation and recommendations relating to the analysis provided.
- To establish standards of information analysis and interpretation, and ensure that standards are maintained throughout the service.
- To provide advice and guidance to senior staff and service managers on the interpretation of information reports.
- To ensure that all information collected within the Trust adheres to NHS information standards and definitions requirements.
- To alert relevant operational colleagues if national performance targets are about to be breached.
- To ensure response times to information data requests are compliant with internal department targets.
Information Reporting
- To liaise with relevant stakeholders and follow up any omissions, errors and data inconsistencies.
- To develop and maintain regular reporting for both internal and external recipients. Pursue automation of reports where appropriate to increase efficiency and accuracy of reports.
- To capture information requirements from all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring that managers and clinicians have the information that they require to deliver the highest quality and most appropriate services to the Trust’s patients.
Requirements:- Good SQL querying skills
- Ability to gather, analyse, interpret and present complex data and information from both electronic and paper-based sources
- NHS experience as a data analyst in an acute information team (desirable)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of NHS informatics including Secondary Uses Services (SUS) and Commissioning Dataset (CDS)
