Our Client, North Middlesex University are recruiting for enthusiastic, hardworking candidates to join the team as a Independent Domestic Violence Advocate.

The role of an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) is to provide a proactive service to victims/survivors identified as experiencing domestic abuse within the Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) at the North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH). This role will include working with victims/survivors to plan for their safety, whilst in hospital, upon discharge and on return to the community.

You will be based within a busy hospital setting working within a multi-agency framework including clinicians and non-clinicians.  You will be responsible for the development of a proactive approach to the identification of domestic violence and abuse. The role will include the development of a referral pathway to the service by hospital staff. This will involve the creation, implementation and delivery of training and workshops to relevant hospital staff as well as presentations to promote the service in a range of forums. 

The role is new to NMUH therefore this post will also be responsible for contributing to monitoring the services successes and working closely with the manager to aid areas of development.

To be considered for these roles, you will need:

  • At least six months NHS experience as a IDVA.
  • Right to Work.
