Moorfields NHS Trust the leading provider of eye health services in the UK and a world class centre of excellence for ophthalmic research and education is looking to appoint a Deputy Division Manager to their StaffBank to fulfil a role at one of their sites in London. It will be to cover for ideally 3 months minimum, full time.

The post of Deputy Divisional Manager is a key position within the trust’s senior management structure. Reporting to the Divisional Manager, the Deputy Divisional Manager is responsible for providing operational and strategic management support to the Divisional Manager, Head of Nursing and Divisional Director to assist them in the development and modernisation of Moorfield services at St George’s Hospital.
The Deputy Divisional Manager has a wide range of responsibilities for ensuring the effective development and operation of the Division’s services at St George’s Hospital and is a one of three members of the leadership triumvirate of St George’s, working closely with the Matron and Clinical Director.
The post-holder is responsible for effective operational management, leadership, expertise and support for a number of key areas within the Division ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe and effective patient services within the resources available. The post holder will provide operational support to the Division to deliver the Trust’s overall strategy and objectives. This will include playing a key role in identifying opportunities for clinical and administrative innovation and modernisation, ensuring the delivery of all operational performance and strategic objectives specifically the Trust waiting list (RTT), financial, HR management, Health and Safety management, risk, clinical & quality governance.
Although the post-holder will be based at St George’s Hospital, the Deputy Divisional Manager will be responsible for and will need to be familiar with Trust services provided on the following sites: Queen Mary’s Hospital (Roehampton), The Nelson Health Centre (Wimbledon), The Nightingale Nursing Home (Clapham), and other sites as the Division develops. The post holder may be expected to travel to other sites within the South Division, namely Croydon University Hospital, as well as City Road.
Previous proven operational management experience in the NHS or similar environment involving a wide range of procedures and practice.
Able to demonstrate evidence of effective financial management
Experience of working with NHS service delivery targets
Experience of analysing data, facts and other evidence to identify problems and to propose and implement solutions
Experience of working with staff at all levels including internal and external stakeholders
Flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the service
