Clinical Lead Required for Aquilis Counselling Service
We are currently recruiting for an opportunity to join Aquilis as a Clinical Lead.
Aquilis is a small team of counsellors based at QA Hospital in Cosham providing short term counselling for Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) staff and for renal patients. Aquilis works within the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
As Clinical Lead you will have extensive experience as a BACP senior accredited supervisor preferably within an organisation and be able to manage complex organisational boundaries. Previous experience as a clinical lead is desirable.
You will be responsible for overseeing the clinical work of the Aquilis team and maintaining appropriate up to date practices and practice guidelines across all Aquilis’ clinical work.
You will provide monthly 1:1 supervision for Aquilis counsellors (currently 5) in line with current Aquilis policies and work flexibly to provide additional ad hoc consultation and support for the team as required.
You will be able to apply your supervisory skills across a range of clinical counselling approaches and have knowledge and experience of safeguarding and risk management in complex casework.
Ideally you will have experience of working within the NHS and/or alongside other medical or professional teams and have knowledge and experience of working with clients dealing with long term medical conditions and trauma.
You will undertake weekly client work in one or two clinics of 5 clients each.
The following qualifications and/ or experience are desirable:
- An approved adoption counsellor, couples work, work with young people aged 11-18,
- Level 3 in EMDR.
You will attend regular team and lead/management meetings (approximately 2 hours per month overall) and provide appropriate reports and statistics to Aquilis’ Operational lead and the hospital’s Head of Health Safety and Wellbeing service.
Hours per week 10-16, to be confirmed on role acceptance.
