Job Summary:
• To Lead and manage the administrative staff & processes in the Plastics & Urology outpatient, secretariat, & waiting list service, operationally responsible for resolving day to day issues.
• To be responsible for the smooth running of the patient journey, from access, to follow-up, through to discharge, ensuring that administrative processes are streamlined and revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
• To work with your team and the clinical teams within your specialties for the achievement of performance targets, such as RTT waiting times, cancer, utilisation, and diagnostic waiting targets.
• To be responsible for high data quality validation.

• Educated to a Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GSCE pass level (minimum 5 GCSEs A*-C) or equivalent standard.
• Management training or equivalent knowledge.

• Qualification / degree or can demonstrate equivalent experience.

• Ability to interpret performance information/ data, analyse it, and develop reports and actions.
• Good organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise effectively, meeting strict deadlines.
• Able to build relationships with patients and strong working relationships with colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• The ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams, and have them understand the Trust’s and your performance expectation.
• Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office including basic understanding of Excel.
• Ability to gather data, compile and analyse information and prepare reports.
• A willingness to be flexible and to work as part of a team.

• Working knowledge of PAS.
• Knowledge of NHS performance targets and waiting list management.
• Knowledge of NHS IT Systems.
• Understanding of the Trusts Access policy.

• Experience of dealing with the public in a busy and demanding environment.
• Evidence of ability to deliver multiple objectives concurrently.
• Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
• Strong administrative or organisational experience.
• Previous experience in co-ordinating or leading a team.


• Experience and evidence of managing change.
