The Estates and Facilities department at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust has an urgent need for Electricians, and the Staff Bank is offering the opportunity for experienced Electricians to join the Bank register for an ongoing role.

 You must have the following to be considered for the role:

  • NVQ-2 or equivalent in relevant trade.
  • Knowledge of the compliance demands in healthcare premises.
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Good communication skills






Plan, diagnose and repair faults on engineering plant and services with minimum supervision.


Understand and work in accordance with the requirements of Heath Technical Memorandums (HTMs) Statuary Regulations and any technical requirements of plant and engineering services.


Work in accordance with the requirements of HTM 06-02, the electrical safety code for low voltage systems as an appointed Competent Person (LV) for the Trust. Undertake faultfinding on the LV network, critical systems and equipment.


Be prepared to undertake work in hazardous areas with due regard to all safety measures in order to prevent danger or Injury to patients and staff and to prevent damage to equipment.


Undertake portable electrical appliance and fixed installation testing and general inspections, ensuring compliance with the latest edition of the wiring regulations BS7671.


To respond to emergency calls to lift systems to release trapped personnel in a safe manner, dealing with the problem calmly and efficiently following appropriate training.


To respond to fire alarms and faults, diagnose and repair system as necessary.


To actively participate in the operation of engineering planned maintenance schemes with minimum supervision.


To have an understanding of the works of other trades, and with suitable training, be able to perform a wide range of tasks of other trades.

An Enhanced DBS that covers Adults and Children will also be required. If you do not currently hold one, we will be able to obtain this for you as part of your recruitment process.
