Bank Band 4 Floor Walkers (unsociable hours) - University College London Hospital

Apply for this job

University College London Hospital are looking for Floorwalkers to join their new EHRS team and work unsociable hours (outside of 9-5) night shifts and weekends.

This post will be between February and April.

The objective of the Floorwalker role is to provide support at go live and immediate, local guidance to UCLH staff who require support as they adapt to new processes and our EHRS (Supplied by Epic) application.  Typically, one Floorwalker will be trained to provide support in one area of the hospital (eg: ED, IP Wards, OP Clinics etc)  to give on-the-job support to EHRS  Users.

The Trust CutOver Lead will coordinate the Floorwalkers and the Training Manager will provide support to them relating to their role and training.

The Floorwalker will be first trained in the end user modules in the areas which they are championing and then receive enhanced training and coaching advice prior to go live.  They will be available to support EHRS  users on the job after the EHRS  users have completed training.

The Floorwalker will not be expected to deliver formal EHRS  training or to replace the requirement for Trust trainers.

The Floorwalker will not have system configuration or technical support responsibilities.

The role would suit a proactive, responsible individual who is able to communicate effectively across a wide range of staff groups. They should have good communication skills, confidence in using a PC and a good knowledge of an NHS (ideally Acute) Environment.  It is critical that individuals performing this role can cope well in a pressurised environment and are able to prioritise multiple conflicting tasks.

Anyone considering an ongoing career within the NHS will benefit from formal mentoring and coaching skills and have an enhanced understanding of issue resolution and conflict avoidance through the Floorwalker training programme.

Ideally you will have experience in supporting Trusts in a floorwalker role, a junior training role- however recent graduates with the ability to grasp complex IT programmes and an outgoing and confident personality will be considered.

If you are interested in the above role, please apply online today and ensure that you attach a CV. Please note, applications without CV's will be discarded.
