University College London Hospital (UCLH) are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join their hospital pharmacy as a part of a committed clinical team.

Their busy and dynamic hospital pharmacy is closely involved in all stages of medicine use, from agreeing contracts for the purchase of medicines through to assessing their outcomes, and distributing vital drugs both to discharged patients and across all hospital wards.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated senior pharmacy technician to work within our Gastro-intestinal (GI) pharmacy team supporting delivery of a medicines management service to the GI inpatient wards. This is an exiting opportunity to work within a friendly and forward-thinking team in a dynamic ward environment.
Key Duties Include:
- Undertaking accurate patient medication histories, using a variety of available sources, including assessment of patients own drugs (PODs).
- Facilitating the dispensary process for discharges to support patient flow.
- Managing day-to-day operational supply of medicines to wards.
- Co-ordinating the medicines top-up service for inpatient wards within the GI division.
- Providing support and guidance on medicines management to ward staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Liaising with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and primary care colleagues to ensure plans for medication supply are in place at transfer of care.
- Working with the GI team pharmacists to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives for medicines management in ward areas.
Important Requirements:
- Previous pharmaceutical experience and a robust knowledge of prescription medication.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
- At least 6 months NHS experience in that last 3 years.
- An empathic, caring approach to patients.
- An honest individual with patience and integrity, with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Excellent administrative, verbal, and written communication skills.
