Pharmacy Production Pharmacist - London

University College London Hospital are on the lookout for a Pharmacy Production Pharmacist to join their hospital pharmacy as a part of a committed team.

Their busy and dynamic hospital pharmacy is closely involved in all stages of medicine use, from agreeing contracts for the purchase of medicines through to assessing their outcomes, and distributing vital drugs both to discharged patients and across all hospital wards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist who is seeking a challenging role to work closely with expert clinicians and ensure all patients receive invaluable medicine, advice, and information. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance their skills by preparing medicines directly utilised on the wards, and will oversee the essential functioning of the hospital dispensary. Main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the principal production technicians and QA staff to ensure all products are prepared in accordance to current guidelines.
  • Ensuring ensure that all activities undertaken within the units meet current legislation such as GMP/GDP, GCP, Health & Safety, COSSH, and that all work documentation and procedures meet these regulations.
  • Ensuring that all requirements of the pharmaceutical quality system and validation plan are fully completed and documented at the specified time and that all staffs involved in these activities are suitably trained.
  • Communicating effectively complex technical and medicine information within the pharmacy and wider multidisciplinary team

Important Requirements:

  • GPHC Qualified / Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • General Pharmaceutical Council member
  • At least 12 months previous experience in NHS Pharmacy in last 3 years
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, professional, caring service to all patients
  • Excellent administrative, verbal, and written communication skills
