Job Purpose
- To undertake medical device decontamination duties and contribute to the delivery of a specialised decontamination service contributing to the clinical care of patients.
- To carry out collection, receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, inspection, packing, sterilisation and distribution of reusable medical devices in accordance with departmental procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Literate and numerate
- Evidence of working in a large team.
- Evidence of working in a quality led production environment or similar
Desirable
- Decontamination related qualification
- Experience of healthcare/HSDU/Sterile Services work
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Evidence of manual skills/dexterity
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to use machinery
- Ability to follow documented work instructions/procedures
Desirable
- Some knowledge of the type of work to be undertaken.
- Knowledge of instruments across a range of surgical/medical specialties
- ICT skills
