BHRUT are seeking an experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join the Bank team at BHR in the Clinical Biochemistry Department
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of complex and specialized diagnostic tests in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to quality control measures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new techniques and methodologies to enhance laboratory services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in biomedical science and integrate new practices as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring it is used safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to provide expert advice and support for patient care.
- Ensure compliance with the relevant accreditation standards and regulatory requirements (UKAS, MHRA, HTA, HSE CQC)
- Investigate adverse incidents, result and service complaints
Person Specification and Essential requirements
- MSc in Biomedical Science
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous senior experience within an NHS hospital
- 4-5 years experience using the c8000 Cobas
Shift Patterns
Night RLH 8pm to 8 am 3 nights per week.
Night SBH 8pm to 8 am 3 nights per week.
Day shift SBH 8 am to 4pm early or 11:30 am to 20 pm with an hour break
