Whittington Health Trust are looking for a consultant to join in Integrated Respiratory and General Medicine at Whittington Health. The respiratory team at the Whittington Hospital, the department has an excellent reputation for innovation and integrated care, focusing on delivering high value multidisciplinary holistic care of patients admitted with acute respiratory deterioration and those living with long-term conditions. The appointee will join a team of 7 respiratory consultants, who lead a thriving multi-disciplinary respiratory team with increasing community, outpatients and inpatient referrals, as well as providing consultant led care for our specialist respiratory 21 bedded ward, which includes 4 HDU beds.  The appointee will also be expected to participate in the emergency out of hours GIM Rota, which includes 8-8 cover at the weekend with time off in lieu.   

The post-holder will share inpatient care over 52 weeks of the year and cross-cover with the other consultants in the team providing respiratory in-patient care on Nightingale (and when needed, outliers) to prospectively provide inpatient care for ~5 months of the year, including co-ordinating their annual leave, time-off in lieu post-weekends, study leave and professional leave and cover for unexpected sick leave.

Required Skills:

  • Current Full GMC Registration
  • Recent NHS experience as a Consultant in respiratory medicine
