Barista - North Middlesex University Hospital - London

North Middlesex University Hospital are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Barista to join their team.

North Middlesex is a medium-sized acute and community trust with over 525 beds and over 600 community staff, serving more than 600,000 people living across Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality coffee beverages, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in providing comfort and support to patients, visitors, and hospital staff through the creation of delicious coffee drinks.

Responsibilities:

Greet patients, visitors, and staff warmly and assist them in selecting beverages from our menu.

Prepare and serve a variety of  coffee drinks, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty beverages, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.

Operate coffee brewing equipment, including espresso machines and grinders, with precision and care.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitization standards in the café area, including cleaning equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper storage and handling of food and beverage items.

Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently, following NHS Trust procedures.

Engage with customers in a friendly and compassionate manner, providing excellent service and addressing any concerns or inquiries.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role preferred.

Knowledge or coffee brewing techniques and familiarity with various coffee beverages.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate hospital schedules.

Food hygiene certification or willingness to obtain certification.
