Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Band 6 rotational programme at Kingston and Richmond Foundation Trust. This role offers the opportunity to gain advanced clinical skills and knowledge across a variety of acute inpatient settings, including care of the elderly, specialist medicine, orthopaedics, surgery, admission avoidance, and community care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Develop and implement individual and group treatment programmes.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Contribute to safe and timely patient discharges.
- Participate in service development projects and audits.
- Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Essential Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registration.
- Minimum of 18 months post-qualification experience, including at least 6 months in an acute setting.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience in elderly care, general medicine, orthopaedics, stroke, frailty, or surgery.
- 6 months NHS experience within the last 3 years.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in community health or social care settings.
- Participation in clinical governance activities.
- Leadership and management training.
- Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy.
