University College London Hospital (UCLH) NHS Trust are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Occupational Therapist to join them on a temporary basis to support their Specialist Therapy department within the following locations:
- University College Hospital (incorporating the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing)
- University College Hospital at Grafton Way
- National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery

Responsibilities:
- To provide specialist occupational therapy for a wide range of patients requiring assessment and rehabilitation in acute inpatient and outpatient environments.
- To provide specialist advice and information to patients, carers, and other professionals.
- To perform manual handling tasks such as the hoisting and/or transfer of patients, fitting and delivery of appropriate equipment.
- To carry out complex standardised and non-standardised OT assessments of functional ability, including self-care, productivity, leisure while considering the impact of symptoms such as including fatigue, breathlessness and anxiety.
- To ensure assessments and intervention are carried out in a sensitive and holistic manner encompassing psychosocial issues and home environment taking disease stage into account.
- Provides recommendations/advice regarding OT management of each patient according to the individual needs of the patient to MDT, family, and community teams.
Important Requirements:
- Degree level qualification or equivalent diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- At least 6 months NHS experience in the last 3 years.
- A sufficiently developed knowledge and standard of Occupational Therapy technique resulting in a high level of patient care.
- Evidence of a clear understanding of the role of the Occupational Therapist in an acute hospital setting.
- Commitment to providing a high-quality, professional, caring service to all patients.
- Excellent administrative, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience of working as a team.
