As part of the Acute Dietetic team, you’ll have opportunities for learning, research, audit, and quality improvement projects.

Role Summary: 

As a Bank Dietitian, you will be an integral part of the Acute Dietetic team at Queen Alexandra Hospital. Your primary focus will be on providing specialist dietetic input to the specialist gastroenterology ward and dietetic gastro clinic. You’ll collaborate closely with gastroenterologists and the intestinal failure dietitian to ensure optimal patient care. Additionally, you’ll work alongside the acute dietetic lead and band 6 dietitian in the surgical rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a specialist dietetic service, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, to patients under the care of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.
  • Work autonomously to provide outpatient services to patients and their carers, both within dietetic-led and multi-disciplinary consultant-led clinics.
  • Participate as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, representing dietetics and promoting the role of nutrition within patient care to medical and surgical teams.

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registration 
  • Experience in complex enteral nutrition is essential.
  • Familiarity with parenteral nutrition is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Suitable for experienced band 5 dietitians or those working at band 6.
