Job Purpose
To provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy to patients with highly complex and rare neuro-disability as an autonomous practitioner. Staff are guided and supported through 5 different service areas by Band 7 Occupational Therapists and Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists. This post works closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key result areas (duties and responsibilities) of the Band 6 Occupational Therapy role:
• Responsibility for own clinical workload as an autonomous practitioner, within designated area, with liaison with the Band 7 Occupational Therapist.
• Close association with staff within the care groups in order to facilitate and promote an integrated multidisciplinary service.
• Regular interface with Band 7 and the Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists to ensure that clinical practice is appropriately informed.
• To undertake evidenced based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice within each rotation. Make recommendations to Band 7 / Clinical specialists for changes to practice within the team.
Requirements
- Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HPC registration in Occupational Therapy
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment provision
- Excellent written/spoken English
- Appreciation of current developments in Health Care provision
- Six months NHS experience as an Occupational Therapist.
