North Mid is also home to one of the largest services in the UK dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of red cell haemoglobin conditions, including sickle cell disease and thalassaemia syndromes. Since 1 January 2025, North Mid and its community services have been part of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, joining a wider group that also includes Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital and Royal Free Hospital.
