University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) are searching for an experienced Band 3 Theatres Circulating Assistant to join their highly skilled team.

Job Purpose:

The Band 3 Theatre Circulating Assistant is a member of the multidisciplinary operating theatre team who works under the delegation and supervision of a registered practitioner (nurse or
operating department practitioner) to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred perioperative care . The post holder will contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and efficient
operating theatre environment, ensuring that theatres are appropriately prepared, stocked and equipped to support the delivery of surgical procedures across a range of specialties.
The post holder will undertake delegated circulating duties for which they have been trained and assessed as competent, including preparing theatre equipment and consumables, assisting with patient positioning and transfers, supporting the safe handling of specimens, maintaining stock levels, and responding promptly to the needs of the surgical team during procedures. They will contribute to patient safety by adhering to Trust policies, infection prevention and control standards, health and safety requirements, and by supporting compliance with the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and other national patient safety initiatives.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant experience / HSC Diploma level 3 Advanced / Higher apprenticeship level 3
  • Experience in operating theatre , interventional areas or perioperative setting.
  • Experience in carrying out assigned duties/assisting qualified staff after training.
  • Working in a team.
  • Working in a Health Care or related setting.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English
