Welcome to Whittington Staff Bank

A big welcome to the Whittington Staff Bank. We’re very grateful to have you on board.

At Bank Partners, our aim is to make sure that it’s easy for you to work flexible shifts in a supportive, professional environment. We’ve included below some key information that you might find useful as you start your journey with us.

Booking and working shifts

Booking shifts

Your consultant will have already advised you if you have access to view and self-book shifts via the Trust’s chosen booking platform. Please contact our team if you are unsure. To submit your availability, contact the bookings team on 0333 5773023.

Doctors: All Medical Staffing shifts are administered through the Locums Nest platform. This means that Bank doctors will need to upload the Locums Nest app to view and book shifts for Whittington Health. Your timesheets will be processed and paid in this way too.

Cancelling a shift

Nursing professionals: If you need to cancel a shift, please call us on 0333  577 3023 and contact the ward/department in which you were due to work.

All other staff groups: Please liaise directly with the ward/unit manager or roster co-ordinator directly if unable to attend a shift.

Please note: If you need to cancel a shift, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to ensure you can continue to work. Multiple shifts being cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in your ability to work being restricted. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.

Trust cancellations
On rare occasions, the trust may cancel a shift, but we will always ensure that you will be paid for this in full if cancelled within 2 hours before the start of the shift.

Flexibility when working

As with all NHS Staff Banks, you may be asked by the Trust to work in a different setting on occasions to the one which you have booked. This will always be with patient safety in mind, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

Keeping patients safe

Stay within the 48-hour weekly limit
