Please note: This is a full time role with a requirement of working 37.5 hours a week.

University College London Hospital (UCLH) NHS Trust are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Pharmacist to join them on a temporary basis to support their Cancer Services department within the University College Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with senior pharmacy colleagues and appropriate staff in other disciplines to forward the pharmacy services agenda, in accordance with agreed objectives and priorities.
  • Work with the lead pharmacist for Cancer Services to extend the boundaries of professional practice within Cancer Services.
  • Identify risks in relation to medicines use and guide the development and implementation of strategies aimed at risk reduction.
  • Apply core clinical pharmacy skills in order to plan, manage, monitor and review therapeutic programmes for patients in Cancer Services.
  • Apply specialist clinical pharmacy skills in order to plan, manage, monitor and review therapeutic programmes for all patients.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies designed to ensure achievement of relevant standards of care.
  • Identify and manage patient’s pharmaceutical needs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Demonstrate accountability to patients, service users, stakeholders and the profession.
  • Follow legal, ethical, professional and employer’s codes of conduct.
  • Demonstrate a whole-system, patient-focused approach.

Important Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist.
  • At least 6 months NHS experience in the last 3 years.
  • A sufficiently developed knowledge and standard of Oncology and/or Haematology clinical practice resulting in a high level of patient care.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, professional, caring service to all patients.
  • Excellent administrative, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working as a team.
