Consultant in Acute Medicine – Barts Health Trust – Whipps Cross Hospital- Consultant

The Consultant will be hired as a full-time 10 PA consultant by Barts Health. In the initial instance, it is expected that the normal duty distribution would be 7.5:2.5 DCC:SPA. The appointee will be on call once every 27 weekday evenings to see acute take patients from 1700-2100 and subsequently from home till the morning post-take ward round 0700-0900.

The medical take numbers at Whipps Cross vary and might range from 40 to 70 patients in a 24-hour period. A third of these are over the age of 80 and are cared for by the consultant on call for Older People's Services.

Essential Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working within as a consultant in General Medicine
  • Relevant General Medicine experience
  • Full Practice GMC registration
  • Current ALS certificate
