University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is embarking on a once‑in‑a‑generation transformation of its reproductive medicine services — and we are looking for an exceptional laboratory leader to help deliver it.

This role offers a rare opportunity to design, build and launch a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art embryology laboratory at 179a Tottenham Court Road, supporting NHS and private IVF services, fertility preservation, and tissue cryopreservation at scale.

If you are an experienced IVF laboratory leader, motivated by innovation, regulation, service design and patient impact, this role puts you at the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting reproductive medicine developments.

The opportunity

As Lead Embryologist you will provide expert leadership and subject‑matter expertise to support:

  • The design, build and commissioning of a new embryology laboratory
  • The safe transfer and expansion of embryology and tissue portfolios
  • The development of a new embryology service supporting IVF, cryopreservation and advanced technologies
  • Full HFEA and HTA regulatory compliance from inception to go‑live
  • A service launch planned for Summer / Autumn 2027

This is a strategic, hands‑on role, balancing senior project leadership with deep scientific expertise, working closely with a wide multidisciplinary stakeholder group.

To meet the criteria for the post you will have :-

  • Life Science Degree
  • HCPC registration (Clinical Scientist)
  • Suitable professional registration - ARCS or BFS
  • MSc in relevant field or equivalent experience
