The Isle of Wight NHS Trust are searching for an experienced and passionate Bank Ambulance Training & Community Response Services (ATCoRS) Tutor/Provider to join their highly skilled team.
The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is an NHS trust which provides physical health, mental health and ambulance services for the Isle of Wight. The trust is unique in being the only integrated acute, community, mental health and ambulance health care provider in England.
The Trust was established in April 2012 as the only fully integrated provider of health services to an isolated offshore population of 140,000.
Job Purpose:
The Ambulance Training & Community Response Services (ATCoRS) Tutor/Provider will play an essential role in generating income through the delivery of accredited and certificated first aid and medical emergency training. The post holder will support the Ambulance Service; community public access defibrillator scheme, Volunteer Community First Responder scheme and community events promoting lifesaving skills/the commercial business.
The Ambulance Training & Community Response Services Tutor/Provider will be accountable for the delivery of training offered by the IW NHS Trust Ambulance Training & Community Response Services either at Isle of Wight NHS Trust dedicated training suites or at clients’ premises.
The Ambulance Training & Community Response Services Tutor/Provider will be responsible and accountable for delivering care within their scope of practice and may assist with medical emergencies including cardiac arrest, when in the vicinity of incidents and on behalf of the Ambulance Service.
The Ambulance Training & Community Response Services Tutor/Provider will also be responsible for sourcing and developing income generation in association with the Head of Education & Community Response.
The Ambulance Training & Community Response Services Tutor/Provider will be accountable for the ongoing development, maintenance and training of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Public Access Defibrillator sites and the expansion of this community service.
Requirements:
- Holds a current First Aid at Work qualification
- Holds an Award in Education and Training or equivalent qualification
- Evidence of recent commitment to personal development and training
- Recent relevant experience in teaching/ training practice
- Relevant experience in dealing with First Aid situations
- Recent experience in teaching First Aid
- Knowledge of the Resuscitation Council UK current guidelines
