Role Overview:
Whittington Health is seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Vaccination Programme on a bank basis. This role will support the delivery of the seasonal COVID-19 and influenza vaccination campaign across our local boroughs, contributing to the protection of vulnerable populations within the community.
The successful candidates will work as part of a community-based vaccination team, delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care to care home residents and housebound individuals. The role requires a high degree of autonomy, including lone working and travel between patient homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations in accordance with national and local clinical guidelines
- Prepare, transport, and manage vaccination equipment and consumables
- Accurately document patient and vaccine data using the Record a Vaccination System (RAVS)
- Provide clear, professional information to patients and respond to queries or concerns
- Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, control, and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse Band 5 with valid NMC registration
- Up-to-date training in Anaphylaxis Management and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Excellent attention to detail in clinical practice and documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when supporting vulnerable or anxious patients
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, community setting
- Physically able to carry vaccination equipment between patient visits
- Competent in the use of navigation tools and basic IT systems
- Previous vaccination experience is desirable but not essential
