Midwife Band 6 – Maternity Wards – University College London Hospital (UCLH)

University College London Hospitals are on the lookout for a committed and qualified midwife to join their highly skilled maternity department.

UCLH NHS Foundation Trust are committed to delivering top-quality patient care, providing excellent education to their staff, and undertaking world-class research. Over 6,000 babies are born each year at their Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (EGA) Maternity Wing, and the department provides exceptional care with the latest technology for women and their babies in the areas of gynaecology, maternity and neonatal care. UCLH take pride in their highly skilled team of midwives and obstetricians, who offer a full range of care options in different settings, including home birth, community care, a co-located birth centre, their labour ward and their two dedicated theatres.

This is a superb opportunity for a qualified midwife to work alongside an expert maternity team committed to providing the safest and highest quality care for babies born within the hospital and from across London. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across the department’s specialist services, such as their Foetal Medicine Unit, Preterm Birth Clinics, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), meaning the chance to optimise one’s skills and experience are endless.

Important Requirements:

  • NMC Registered
  • Specialised midwife, CTG & NLA qualified
  • At least 6 months NHS experience in that last 3 years
  • Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centred approach
