We are looking for a senior finance professional to provide effective support to the Trust on a temporary basis by developing the Trust’s internal trading model and its service line reporting.
The Appointee will review, simplify and rebase internal trading budgets for quarter 1 reporting in 2019/20. They will work in the Business Support, Costing and Service Line Reporting team to re-baseline internal trading variable categories, streamline processes, establish rules and prepare guidance documentation. They will also support the development of a dashboard suite for reports using PowerBI.
The person will operate at a Band 8A level and will have an NHS finance background with experience in service line reporting, financial reporting development and process mapping. They will be proactive and can get on with the job with limited supervision once they have been inducted.
They must possess strong analytical and technical skills and have very good Excel, MS Access and financial modelling skills. A good understanding of PowerBI and SQL or similar business intelligence tools would be desirable.
They will be an excellent communicator, persuasive and able to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Heads of Finance, Divisional managers and their teams. They will be experienced in producing concise guidance documentation and presenting information both verbally and non-verbally to stakeholders at a senior management level.
The duration of the temporary cover period is expected to be three months to start asap. The role is expected to centre on the following tasks:-
- Review and refinement of existing internal trading processes
- Re-baselining of Internal Trading budgets
- Re-development of existing Excel and Access processing data models
- Development of an Internal Trading reporting suite
- Preparation of detailed guidance and governance documentation
- Stakeholder engagement – SLR governance meetings/Training/Subject matter expert
The role will provide an excellent opportunity for an able and enthusiastic candidate to actively lead on the development of decision support tools and processes within the Trust.
We would also welcome CVs from candidates experiences in implementing PLICs National Cost Collection submissions which is delivered at the same time as the temporary cover period. We may be able to where possible, have flexibility with the experience of the post holder to work collaboratively with team members to support the submission.
