Bank Pharmacy Staff- All Bands - University College Hospital

Apply for this job

Calling all registered pharmacists / pharmacy technicians to UCLH to come support us in implementing our new electronic health records system - EPIC for various shifts between Friday 29th - Sunday 31st March 2019.

Patients are at the centre of everything we do. An electronic health record system (EHRS)  will help to ensure that we continue to get better at delivering services and treatment plans designed around patient needs. EHRS will help UCLH to meet specific challenges it is currently facing in: patient experience, patient safety, integrated care, further developing our research hospital, standardised pathways, supporting local services developments, operational efficiency, user experience and innovation.  It will provide real-time information about any patient’s condition, treatment plan, diagnostic results, scheduled clinics and much more – providing timely and relevant advice to help clinical teams make the right decisions at the right time. EHRS will help us transition to a digitally enabled organisation that supports the delivery of efficient and effective patient care, achieved through easy-to-use systems that provide staff and patients with access to the right information, in the right place, at the right time.

Cutover is the transfer of key clinical information from our existing electronic systems and paperwork into Epic for patients admitted to the hospital at the time we switch to using Epic. Between Fri 29th and Sun 31st March 2019 cutover will take place.

A major part of cutover is the transfer of medication and allergy information from EPMA, ICIP and paper drug charts.  We require pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to fill a number of shifts in order to complete the task.
