Band 5 - Rotational Physiotherapist - North Middlesex - London

North Middlesex University Hospital (North Mid) are searching for a passionate and experienced Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist to join their highly skilled Community Inpatients team.

North Mid provides both hospital and community care, helping to keep people in the best possible health at every stage in their lives. 

Its maternity, children, and adult services span a range of medical and surgical specialities and its adult and children’s emergency departments are among the busiest in London.

North Mid is also proud to offer one of the largest services in the UK dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of red cell haemoglobin conditions, including sickle cell disease and thalassaemia syndromes.

Job Purpose:

As part of the Physiotherapy Service and wider inpatient MDT - providing care to a multi-cultural and diverse population across North Central London to deliver a high standard physiotherapy service in the Inpatient rehabilitation wards.  To work alongside more senior staff and MDT colleagues or to have access to senior support at all times during normal working hours. Rotation within inpatient rehab specialties at Magnolia Unit , Capetown & Canterbury wards, potential to expand in future.

Please note that this role includes being part of a weekend service rota including Saturdays & Sundays.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations of physical and psychological conditions, to provide a clinical diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or particular patient type, working under supervision.  Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case review and case conferences.  Access to advice and support from a more senior physiotherapist is available when required; clinical work is routinely evaluated.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To be aware of and to highlight to your line manager any clinical governance issues pertaining to your role and practice.

With support and guidance from more senior staff to undertake an evidence-based audit or projects to further own and team’s clinical practice within each rotation or post.

To contribute to the delivery of health promotion activities within the service and wider Trust initiatives.

Requirements:

  • A recognized degree or diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Essential registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Excellent communication.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Previous Post graduate clinical experience.
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
